vinegar

I love this Saturday, it seems just perfect. This week has had some peacefulness about it. A while ago the world seemed to have a turbulent energy, while this week it was calm and peaceful, a peacefulness you could feel at the core of you if you listened carefully.

The week has been a week of writing. Half a dozen articles written for work, some recipe posts scheduled. The peaceful energy seemed to bring with it a calm flow in life, where things seemed to happen, one after another, without effort. And so it was in the kitchen. Food was prepared, made, stored, eaten, shared, given away without the usual effort. May this calm earth energy last a long time!

Early one morning, cooked chickpeas went into the oven with spices and olive oil, and emerged sporting crispy exteriors and soft interiors. The perfect after-work snack. They are so easy to make.

In a marathon reading session this morning, I found these cost-saving cleaning tips. Mix one part vinegar with four parts water and three drops of liquid dish soap for an effective window cleaner. And use an equal amount of vinegar in your dishwasher as a replacement for a rinse aid.
